Your face was burned in my brain like a DVD menu on repeat. That slumber party weakness we had most every weekend.

I was calm and composed despite the bloody nose. A loving embrace turned punch to the face. At least I felt it. At least I felt you.

Like the TV fades in an electric haze as I press it, the button it glows and in a second it goes and Ive lost it. Ive lost you.

She was kind and she was running cold.
She would come around but it was always time to go. Alone and and not lonely, lost and not searching, blanketed and homely, old and still burning.
She was mine and she was all her own.
She was time when I had none to sew.
Scared but not shaking, bent but not breaking, loud and soft spoken, in shade and still growing.
